Bourbon Cranberry Sauce

This is such a lovely recipe and so easy to make.  I was one of those who always would be the canned cranberry sauce, but after trying this I will never buy canned again.  You can always leave the bourbon out or add it before cooking to make sure the alcohol cooks out.  Indulge!

INGREDIENTS
1 bag uncooked whole cranberries
3 small apples peeled and diced
3 small pears peeled and diced
1 cup granulated sugar
1 ½ cup brown sugar
Scant (1/2 teaspoons) of cinnamon
1/3 cup Bourbon

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a baking dish drizzle with some of the bourbon.  Cover tightly with foil and bake until cranberries are tender and sugar has dissolved (stir once during baking), for about an hour.

Remove from oven and stir in remaining Bourbon (you can always add more if it’s been one of those days ;) ).

Refrigerate until well chilled.
